Badgerclaw woke up with a start. Dreams, nightmares filled his head in the night. The moonlight shone brightly down on the sleeping camp. Leaffrost was busy trying to mend Berryfrost's 'broken mind.' Unable to sleep, Badgerclaw padded quietly over to visit with the three kits. Gazing proudly on the three bundles of fur, he noticed that one of the kits was wide awake.

"Get back to sleep, Moonkit," he whispered gently.

"How can I sleep when the moon is bright?" Moonkit countered smugly.

Padding unsteadily out into the night, Moonkit sat down and began to wash herself.

"Look at it, Badgerclaw! Isn't it beautiful?" she continued, eyes glittering at the moon.

Sighing, Badgerclaw looked at the nursery, and mewed, "Really, Moonkit, you've got to get to sleep. We don't want any grumpy warriors in the morning!" he teased.

With an amused look, he pushed her with sheathed paws back into her warm, comfortable nest.

He padded back to the warrior's den, laughing to himself at the stubborn little Moonkit. The stars filled his eyes with drowsiness, and he drifted off into sleep.

Back in her nest, Moonkit dreamed peacefully of the glittering, friendly moon...
