She went on a mission to hunt for the fox that two of our apprentices encountered..
Brakentail turned away, and as in deep thought, walked into the warriors den. Wishing he could follow, Badgerpaw padded into the apprentices den and sat thoughtfully in the dark shade of the stones. Fuzzypelt was strong, but could she defeat an angry fox?
Fuzzypelt rubbed her eyes. It couldn't be there... but it erupted with shrill yowling, and Fuzzypelt growled. She thought herself a fool as the bobcat circled closer. A grey fox against a cat, it could win. But against a bobcat? So this is why the fox ran, Fuzzypelt thought to herself. The bobcat lower itself to the ground, ready to crouch. Suddenly a fluffy cat bursted out of the tall, yellow grass and landed on the bobcat's back. It was followed by another cat, colored grey like a storm cloud. Yowling, the two furiously slashed at the bobcat's ears and nose. Howling in pain, the bobcat shook the two furry shapes off of her, and limped quickly into the woods on the other side of the plains.
"Are you ok?" the reddish orange fluffy cat asked, quickly getting up from the ground.
"Yes, thank you," Fuzzypelt answered warily, not sure what to think of the strange cats.
"I'm Red, and this is Ash!" the cat continued, waving her tail briefly at the cat beside her.
"Thank you, again, for attacking the bobcat! Why would you risk yourselves for me? You don't even know me!" Fuzzypelt mewed quietly.
"Oh, we do so every day. There is always a cat in danger somewhere near. We happened to be out hunting when Kirsha showed up." Red shrugged it off.
"Kirsha? The bobcat?" Fuzzypelt questioned curiously.
"Yes, Kirsha. You are fortunate that we showed up. She is the worst tempered bobcat there is!" Ash mewed jokingly.
Then, turning seriously to Red, she mewed, "Let's be on our way, Red."
She jerked her head toward the other forest and the two started that way,
"You live in there?" Fuzzypelt mewed loudly, thinking of the horrible stories from the elders about the 'wrong side of the forest.
"Yes, it is hard, but it is something," Red mewed.
A friendly glint in her eyes that Fuzzypelt would never forget, the two partners melted into the forest.
Fuzzypelt sighed and began to trot toward camp.
